Client Need
The Jolly Harbour Marina sought to demolish and replace its timber docks.  It also desired to enhance the dockside amenities offered to contemporary yachtsmen.  Construction work could not impact marina operations or slip availability during the upcoming high season.

Devcon Ltd. constructed concrete docks with a modular design to increase installation efficiency. Fixed docks were selected because the protected harbour has  limited tidal variation.  All components were pre-cast to improve quality and structural integrity.  Connecting points were poured in place to provide a monolithic final product.  This technique enabled Devcon Ltd. to perform on-site construction activities in weeks instead of months.  Removable center panels provide ease of accessibility for future utility maintenance and upgrades.

Pier construction was sequenced, allowing continuous operation of the marina and  minimizing disruption to clientele.  The project was delivered on schedule and on-budget; ready for use when high season began.
